Keighley Cougars are preparing to welcoming fans back to Cougar Park.

A limited number of supporters could return to Cougar Park, beginning with our Betfred League One fixture against the Rochdale Hornets on Sunday 23rd May.

Furthermore, larger crowds could return after they key date of Monday 21st June, which could see the lifting of most Covid restrictions in the country ahead of our home fixture against the London Skolars on Sunday 26th June.

We, like you the supporters, both welcome and are excited by the possibility of fans returning to Cougar Park .

The Keighley Cougars team has urged supporters to take into account that when they are able to first return to Cougar Park, things will have to be a little different to what they are used to and we kindly request your support and compliance with the necessary protocols.

AS IT STANDS – MATCHDAY AT COUGAR PARK WITH LIMITED CAPACITY & COVID RESTRICTIONS

At this current moment in time, the club are awaiting confirmation on the capacity allowed inside Cougar Park under Covid restrictions by both the Rugby Football League and Bradford Metropolitan District Council.

Once this number has been confirmed, should fans be allowed into sports stadia on the current projected dates, any home fixture played with Covid restrictions in place will be ALL TICKET in order for the club to not breach the capacity allowance. This will mean all tickets will need to be purchased in advance either online or at the club office. No tickets will be available to purchase on the day.

For everyone’s safety, whilst Covid restrictions are still in place there will be a one way system implemented. This will allow staggered, entry and exit into Cougar Park in order to maintain social distancing protocols. Spectators will be issued an arrival time and a zone to stand/sit in. We ask that all fans please adhere to these times and areas. Changing ends at half time will unfortunately be prohibited.

It is also asked that you do not stand or sit with any fellow supporter who is not in your social bubble under current Covid guidelines and restrictions.

As you may have seen throughout pre-season on the club social media channels, to facilitate the need for a Covid testing area for essential staff, and socially distanced changing areas for players and coaches of both the Cougars and the opposition, the bar areas at the ground will not be in use for spectators .

The club are currently working on plans to facilitate the sale of food and drink within Cougar Park and will make a further statement on this matter closer to the Rochdale fixture, should the government’s current proposed roadmap work as planned.

Please remember that even though these guidelines and advice may seem strict, they have been put in place to keep all involved, including supporters, players, and staff, safe from the threat of Covid.

They are also here to both ease and alleviate the fears of those who want to attend games but may still feel unsure about being around relatively large crowds after the past twelve months.
