Keighley Cougars are committed to fight for Trans inclusion in rugby and sport. We will continue to campaign against the arbitrary and unfair policy which excludes many trans people from rugby, whether in league or union.

India Willoughby the club patron and first Trasngender Patron of a professional sports club said;

β€œThis is the hardest time in history to be trans. I’ve spoken to families this week and they are absolutely terrified. Every day we face relentless demonisation, along with threats by politicians to strip us of existing rights and protections. Even Labour are putting the boot in. We need allies to stand with us more than ever.”

The trans community world wide faces growing challenges, whether in the UK where a hostile health secretary continues to restrict access to gender affirming care or in the USA where the most regressive Administration on Trans and LGBTQ rights is about to enter office.

This transgender awareness week we must unite in the face of prejudice and show our trans family that they belong in rugby, they belong in our community and they are loved 🩡🀍🩷
