Keighley Cougars are delighted to announce Richard Dibbin as our Head of Rugby Operations.

Following the appointment of Matt Bramald as Head Coach, Richard joins to help strengthen the organisation and support behind our rugby team as preparations for 2027 gather pace.

Richard brings experience in local rugby league through his role as Chairman of Keighley Albion, where he remains committed to fulfilling his responsibilities until the end of the 2026 season before completing that chapter and focusing on his new role with the Cougars.

Working closely with the owners and Matty, Richard will support recruitment, help assemble the backroom team and oversee the practical organisation of rugby operations. Coaching, team selection and on-field preparation will remain the responsibility of Matty and his coaching staff.

Richard said:
“I’m really excited about this opportunity and determined to make a positive contribution to Keighley Cougars.

“Keighley Albion has been a huge part of my life, and I remain fully committed to my responsibilities as Chairman until the end of the 2026 season. It’s important to me that I see that through properly.

“It’s already been great chatting with Matty and helping get him on board. His enthusiasm has really come across, and we’re already bringing together a backroom team to support him and the players.

“My role is to make sure the support and organisation are there behind the scenes. Matty and his coaching staff will lead the coaching, and I’ll be working alongside them to help give the team the best possible chance.

“We want passion and hunger throughout this team. We want players who genuinely want to be at Keighley, who are prepared to work hard for each other and who understand how much this club means to its supporters.

“We can’t promise to win every game, but we are committed to building a team that gives everything every week. The fans deserve to see that effort, determination and desire whenever the players pull on a Cougars shirt.

“There’s plenty to do, and I can’t wait to get stuck in.”

Please join us in welcoming Richard to the Cougars
