Squad Announcement – Coventry Bears

KEIGHLEY Cougars Head Coach Rhys Lovegrove has today named his 21-man squad for Sunday’s trip to the Butts Park Arena to face the Coventry Bears.

The Cougars Head Coach brings Jason Muranka, Jack Arnold, Ben Stead, and Morgan Robinson into his side for Sunday’s visit to the Midlands.

James Feather is also named in the 21-man squad after being registered as a player for the remainder of the 2021 season in case he is required to be called upon.

Bobby Darbyshire (Concussion) is ruled out through an injury sustained in training with Robert Matamosi being cleared to play after being taken from the field at half-time during last Sunday’s win against the West Wales Raiders.

Jake Webster is rested as a precautionary measure.

This weekend’s game comes too soon for Billy Gaylor (Shoulder) with Wellington Albert (Ankle) and Alix Stephenson (Leg) now both in the early stages of their respective rehabilitation processes.

The club are currently continuing to follow the Covid-19 protocols put in place by the governing body following last week’s positive test.

The Rugby Football League have stood down six first-team players which means they are unavailable once again for Sunday’s game on the back of missing last week’s victory over West Wales.

However, all six players stood down should be cleared to return next weekend against the London Skolars upon completion of their isolation periods and the return of a negative lateral flow test.
