Keighley Cougars can today announce the signing of Fullback, Stand-off, scrum-half, Oscar Thomas on a deal to the end of the 2023 season.

The 29-year-old has been playing his rugby in France’s Elite One Championship with Villeneuve XIII RLLG this year having joined the club from Workington Town ahead of the 2023 season.

The utility back has a wealth of Championship experience under his belt having enjoyed spells at Bradford Bulls, Sheffield Eagles, London Broncos, Whitehaven and Workington Town.

With over 165 career appearances, Thomas has amassed an impressive points return, with a career total of 414 to his name, which includes 30 tries, 144 goals and six drop goals.

Director of Rugby, Jake Webster said “It’ll be good for Oscar to get back in the mix. We’ve given him an opportunity and it’s his to grab with both hands. His experience is something we need at the moment and I am looking forward to seeing how Oscar goes. We’ve made this signing before the August 4th deadline to ensure we have enough depth in the squad to carry us through to the end of the season.”

He is in contention for this weekends fixture in Toulouse.
