We’re delighted to welcome Max Fleary to the Cougars for the 2027 season!

Max joins us having spent time in the development systems at Castleford Tigers, Bradford Bulls and Huddersfield Giants, alongside his community rugby roots at Newsome Panthers.

And the Fleary name will be familiar to plenty of Cougars supporters! Max’s dad, Darren Fleary, wore the Keighley shirt before moving to Leeds Rhinos in 1997. Now Max has the opportunity to write his own chapter at Cougar Park.

Joining the squad Matt Bramald is building, Max will have the chance to learn alongside experienced teammates, compete for his place and take the next step in his rugby league career.

🗣️ Head Coach Matt Bramald:

“I’m really pleased to have Max joining us. He’s a young player with potential, and I’m looking forward to working with him and helping him develop. There will be opportunities here for players who work hard and earn their place, and pre-season gives Max the chance to show us what he can bring to the team.”

 Richard Dibbin, Rugby Operations:

“It’s been a pleasure getting Max on board, and I’m delighted he’s chosen to join us. The connection through his dad is a lovely part of the story for our supporters, but this is Max’s opportunity to make his own name at Keighley. We’re looking forward to welcoming him into the group and supporting him as he takes this next step.”

Welcome to the Cougars, Max!
