Keighley Cougars wrap up pre-season in style with an eight-try victory over Bradford Bulls.
The young Bulls side burst out of the gates early through Australian Tyran Ott scooting over from dummy half to open the scoring.
Bradford scored quickly after too through centre Harvey Duckworth after a delightful offload from Eliot Peposhi.
Keighley applied a lot of pressure and were rewarded through winger Brad Holroyd scoring his second try of pre-season.
Sam Ackroyd spotted a gap in the Cougars defence to get a third try of the afternoon for the Bulls.
Cougars hit back quickly though as new signing Izaac Farrell beat a few Bulls players to score.
Bradford finished off the scoring in the first-half through young winger Waldimar Matahwa snook over for the Bulls.
The second-half started quietly until a lovely break down the right edge from Billy Walkley was finished off by Adam Ryder for his first of the afternoon.
Cougars’ young starlet Connor Sayner spotted a gap in the Bradford side and sneaked over in the corner.
Sayner went over from dummy half and put Keighley into the lead for the first time of the afternoon.
Keighley who were brimming with confidence now went and scored back-to-back tries through Ryder this time as he stormed through the heart of the Bradford side.
Jake Webster’s side kept on the front foot and scored a seventh try of the match through young prop Leo Aliyu crashing his way over.
Bobby Hartley spotted a gap right on the hooter to score and round off a thrilling second-half performance for the Cougars who ran out 44-22 winners at Cougar Park.
Attentions now turn to the Challenge Cup for Webster’s men as they await the visit of York Knights to Cougar Park.
