Keighley Cougars are delighted to welcome Jay Scriven to Cougar Park for the 2027 season!
The 25-year-old brings experience from both the British and Australian game as Matty Bramald continues to assemble his squad.
After progressing through Leeds Rhinos’ scholarship and Wakefield Trinity’s academy and reserves, Jay spent four seasons in Australia with Tully Tigers and Southern Suburbs, before returning to British rugby league with Batley Bulldogs and Rochdale Hornets in 2026.
That journey has exposed Jay to different playing environments, and the demands of senior rugby experience he now brings to the Cougars alongside the ambition to make his mark at Cougar Park.
Head Coach Matty Bramald:
“Jay is a welcome addition to the squad. He’s gained experience here and in Australia, and we’re looking forward to seeing what he can bring to the group. We want players who are ready to compete, keep improving and contribute to the team, and I’m pleased Jay will be joining us.”
Richard Dibbin:
“We’re really pleased to have Jay on board. At 25, he has already experienced different clubs and spent several seasons playing in Australia, while still having plenty of rugby ahead of him.
“Building this squad is about getting the right balance of experience, ability and potential. Jay brings something valuable to that mix, and we’re looking forward to welcoming him to Keighley.”
Welcome to the Cougars, Jay!
