Keighley Cougars are delighted to confirm that Jack Teanby will continue his journey as a Keighley Cougars player having signed a permanent contract with the club for the remainder of the 2025 season, as well as a two-year extension until the end of 2027.
Jack has been fantastic in his two-game loan spell, scoring two tries against Newcastle Thunder and providing that much needed ‘go forward’ in the middle.
A dominant middle with pace and power adds nicely to Alan Kilshaw’s squad. He said “Jack’s been great since he arrived. His performances on and off the field have met my expectations. I am happy he wants to continue his journey with us, he’s a very popular and senior figure within the group already and that builds nicely into 2026.”
Jack said “I am delighted to extend my stay at the club. I’ve been made to feel really welcome and have enjoyed playing my rugby here. We’re in a tricky spot this year but we aren’t going down without a fight. I can’t wait to see what the next couple of years brings.”
COO, Steve Watkinson said “First of all congratulations to York Knights on their victory in the 1895 Cup at Wembley this weekend and our thanks go to Clint Goodchild for helping the transfer take place. Jack’s a long serving member of the York club and we respect the relationship between club and player. We’re delighted to add Jack to our permanent roster.”
