Keighley Cougars are delighted to confirm that experienced prop forward Jack Teanby has signed a contract extension, keeping him at Cougar Park for the 2027 season.

The powerful front-rower becomes the latest member of the Cougars squad to commit his future to the club as preparations continue to gather pace for the upcoming campaign under Head Coach Matt Bramald.

Teanby’s decision to remain with the Cougars represents another important step in building a strong, competitive and determined squad capable of challenging throughout the 2027 season.

A formidable presence in the middle of the field, Jack brings strength, physicality and valuable experience to the Cougars forward pack. His hard-running approach, aggressive defence and willingness to take on the toughest challenges make him an important figure within the squad.

As a prop forward, Teanby understands the demands of playing through the middle, where games are often won and lost. His ability to make difficult metres, absorb pressure and provide a physical platform for the players around him is a valuable asset to the team.

Beyond his contributions on the pitch, Jack offers experience and a strong work ethic, qualities that will be vital as the Cougars continue to develop a squad built around determination, togetherness and a desire to succeed.

BUILDING FOR A STRONGER 2027

With a number of new faces arriving at Cougar Park ahead of next season, retaining established players remains an equally important part of the club’s recruitment strategy.

The Cougars are focused on developing a squad that combines experience with fresh talent, creating the right balance of physicality, skill and ambition to compete consistently throughout the campaign.

Teanby’s contract extension provides further continuity within the forward pack and ensures that another experienced player will be part of the club’s plans moving forward.

Building successful teams requires more than simply bringing in new players. Retaining individuals who understand the demands of the competition, the expectations of the club and the importance of representing Keighley is equally essential.

Jack’s commitment is another positive indication of the direction in which the Cougars are heading as the club continues to strengthen both on and off the field.

A BIG ROLE TO PLAY

The forward battle will once again be crucial throughout the 2027 season, and Teanby’s physical attributes and experience will be important as the Cougars look to establish themselves as a difficult side to face.

His presence will help provide the foundations for the team’s attacking play, while his defensive contribution and willingness to compete in the toughest areas of the pitch will be equally valuable.

With Head Coach Matt Bramald continuing to shape the squad, competition for places will be an important element of preparations, ensuring players push one another to maintain high standards throughout the season.

Teanby will have an important role to play in that environment, bringing experience and a determined approach to every training session and matchday.

THE JOURNEY CONTINUES

As excitement begins to build around the 2027 campaign, the Cougars remain committed to creating a team that reflects the passion, resilience and fighting spirit associated with the club and its supporters.

The ambition is clear: to develop a competitive squad that represents Keighley with pride, gives everything on the pitch and provides supporters with plenty to get behind at Cougar Park.

The retention of players such as Jack Teanby is an important part of that process, helping to create stability while laying the foundations for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

With further preparations and squad announcements continuing, Teanby’s extension represents another encouraging piece of the puzzle as the Cougars look towards a positive and ambitious 2027 season.

We look forward to seeing Jack back in the red, green and white, leading the charge through the middle and giving everything for the Cougars once again.

Another powerful presence secured. Another important piece of the 2027 squad in place.
