Former Leeds Rhinos academy prop forward Tobias Gibson joins on a season long loan from Workington Town.
Gibson came through the Leeds Rhinos Academy system joining their scholarship side during the Covid pandemic. He played his junior rugby at Siddal where he won the Halifax Cup, he also played rugby union at Old Brodleians RUFC.
In 2023, Gibson joined Bradford Bulls featuring for their Reserves and Academy sides, before moving North to join Newcastle Thunder featuring 36 times in two seasons for the then League One side including 4 games against the Cougars.
Ahead of the 2025 season he joined Jonty Gorley’s Workington Town side and has since made 4 appearances for the RFL Championship side, he came off the bench in Workington’s 16-16 draw against the Keighley Cougars earlier in the year.
Tobias made his debut for the Cougars over last weekends 22-22 draw against Swinton Lions. He played just shy of 30 minutes, making 15 tackles (94%) and making 10 runs, for 75 metres.
