KEIGHLEY Cougars can today issue the following statement regarding those entering the field of play upon the conclusion of first team fixtures at Cougar Park.

Following Sunday’s victory over Oldham, we had a near miss in terms of a supporter getting injured as a result of those attempting to enter the pitch.

This was brought to the attention of both the SAG (Safety Advisory Group) and the governing body, who have since brought it to the attention of the club.

As a result, we must ask that supporters DO NOT enter the field of play until the team has begun its lap of appreciation following the game.

This means following the conclusion of fixtures at Cougar Park, supporters MUST wait until the team have completed their post-match huddle and any on the whistle duties.

The club will be positioning stewards on all entrances to the pitch until the lap of appreciation has begun.

We ask that supporters please respect our matchday security team, the players, staff, and officials, by not entering the field by climbing over advertising hoardings during this period.

There will be an announcement made over the tannoy for when supporters will be allowed to enter the pitch.

Whilst the players and staff do love your support and are happy to sign autographs and take photos once their lap of appreciation has begun, we must also put everyone’s safety first.

The club could face sanctions and penalties should supporters not adhere to these rules.

We thank you in advance for your co-operation on this matter and look forward to seeing you at Cougar Park once again this Sunday afternoon.
