Keighley Cougars have bolstered their squad for the remainder of the 2024 season with the signing of George Flanagan on loan from Bradford Bulls. Flanagan, a seasoned hooker known for his tenacity and skill, brings a wealth of experience to the Cougars lineup.

With his adeptness in controlling the game’s tempo and his sharp defensive skills, Flanagan is poised to make an impact on the team and add depth to the squad.

The move comes with a caveat as Bradford Bulls have a call-back clause, indicating they can recall Flanagan if needed after an initial two-week period.

For Keighley Cougars, Flanagan’s arrival injects a fresh dose of talent and depth into the roster. DOR Jake Webster said “The signing of George gives the coaching staff some depth and flexibility going into a crucial part of the season. George is a Championship level hooker so to secure someone of his character makes our intentions clear.”

Steve Watkinson, Cougars COO said “Thanks go out to Jason Hirst and Eamon O’Carrol at Bradford for helping us secure this move. I am keen to build this relationship with Bradford and speaking with Jason, it’s clear his intentions align with ours. Rugby League clubs can be stronger if they work together and at the club we are excited to be at the start of that journey with Bradford. I would urge all our fans to welcome George to the club, and we should all look forward to seeing him in the red, green and white.”
