From Australia to Cougar Park — Kye Jacobson is on board for 2027! 🇦🇺🙌
We’re delighted to welcome the Australian centre to Keighley as Matt Bramald continues to build his squad for the new season.
Kye brings a background spanning both Australian and British rugby league. He spent time in the Newcastle Knights development pathway before playing for Macquarie Scorpions in Australia’s competitive Newcastle Rugby League competition.
His move to the UK saw him join Cornwall, where he marked his debut with a try. His rugby journey has since included spells with Bedford Tigers, Swinton Lions and Rochdale Mayfield, before most recently representing North Wales Crusaders.
Now, his next chapter starts at Keighley Cougars! 💪
Comfortable at centre and with experience in the forwards, Kye gives the coaching team options as we prepare for the challenges ahead. At 24, he also has plenty of opportunity to develop further and make his mark at Cougar Park.
🗣️ Head Coach Matt Bramald:
“Kye is someone we’re really pleased to bring into the squad. His versatility gives us options, and we’re looking forward to working with him in pre-season. He’s keen to be part of what we’re building, and we want to give him the opportunity to kick on here.”
🗣️ Head of Rugby Operations Richard Dibbin:
“Kye made it clear he wanted to come to Keighley, and it’s been a pleasure getting the deal over the line. We’re delighted he’s signed and are looking forward to seeing him get started with Matty, Ryan and the lads.”
A new chapter. A new challenge. A new Cougar.
Welcome to Keighley, Kye Jacobson! 🔴🟢⚪
