Keighley Cougars are pleased to announce the appointment of Ian Hardman as the club’s new Head Coach.
Hardman arrives at Cougar Park with a wealth of experience in the game, both as a former professional rugby league player and as a respected coach. During his playing career, Hardman competed at a high level of the sport and was widely recognised for his leadership, work ethic and deep understanding of the game. Since transitioning into coaching, he has continued to build a strong reputation for developing players, fostering high-performance environments and delivering competitive, disciplined teams.
The club would also like to confirm that Dan Burton, who has been serving as Interim Head Coach, will return to his previous role as Assistant Coach.
Managing Director Kaue Garcia paid tribute to Burton’s contribution during a challenging period for the club:
“Dan has done a fantastic job as Interim Head Coach. He stepped up when the club needed him most and handled the role with professionalism, commitment and real care for the players and staff. We’re delighted that he will continue with us as Assistant Coach and look forward to working closely with him moving forward.”
Co-owner Ryan O’Neill welcomed Hardman to the role and spoke of his excitement for the future:
“We’re very pleased to welcome Ian to Keighley Cougars. He brings vast experience from both his playing and coaching career, and we’re excited about what he will bring to the club. His knowledge, standards and ambition align perfectly with where we want to go.”
Ian Hardman will begin work with immediate effect as preparations continue for the next phase of the club’s on-field programme.
