The Nigeria Rugby League Association (NRLA) announces a change in leadership ahead of the upcoming international fixture against Cumbria.
Unfortunately, Jake Webster has had to step down as Head Coach of the Nigerian Men’s Team due to family commitments. We wish Jake all the best and look forward to reconnecting with him in future international fixtures.
Stepping into the role is Alan Kilshaw, the highly respected Head Coach of Keighley Cougars.
Alan brings over 16 years of coaching experience, including more than 200 first-grade games across the UK and Australia. His track record of success — from championship wins with Rochdale
Hornets and Mackay Cutters to building strong, high-performing cultures at Hunslet RLFC — demonstrates his proven ability to lead and inspire.
Alan will be supported by his Keighley Assistant Coach, Craig McDowell, as the team prepares for the clash in Cumbria.
“I’m honoured to be leading the Nigeria Rugby League team in our upcoming game against Cumbria. I’m excited to work with both new and existing staff as we bring the players into camp and prepare for a strong performance that reflects the values of the country and the pride of those with Nigerian heritage.
It’s a fantastic time to be involved in international rugby league, and I’m looking forward to representing Nigeria with passion and purpose.”
— Alan Kilshaw, Head Coach, Nigeria Rugby League
Adam Sada, Nigeria Rugby League Operations Director, added:
“We look forward to working with Alan and Craig as we continue to build on the strong momentum of Nigerian rugby league. Their experience and leadership will bring a new edge to our campaign as we prepare for what promises to be an exciting fixture.
